CP Axtra Public Company Limited (SET: CPAXT), operator of the wholesale and retail businesses ‘Makro – Lotus’s,’ is moving forward to strengthen and enhance good corporate governance (CG) by organizing the event “AXTRA CG DAY: Good Governance for Sustainable Growth – Driving Business Sustainability with Good Governance.”
This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to embedding governance as the organizational foundation, fostering a culture of transparency, responsibility, and inclusiveness for all stakeholders. The company also pledges to treat all shareholders equally, aiming to create stable and sustainable long-term growth.
The event was graced by Ms. Sineenart Chamsri, Senior Director, Head of Sustainable Business Development at the Stock Exchange of Thailand, alongside CP Axtra’s board of directors and senior executives, who united to demonstrate collaborative efforts in embedding strong governance practices across all organizational tiers.
Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group and Chairman & CEO of CP Axtra, emphasized CP Group’s four pillars of good governance: “Governance is not just a set of regulations—it is a moral standard deeply rooted in our organizational culture and the heart of sustainability. This is reflected in our four pillars: 1) Upholding integrity, 2) Commitment to excellence in quality, 3) Nurturing people to progress together, and 4) Valuing resources for sustainable benefit to society, the economy, and the environment. True sustainability begins from within and radiates outwards into society.”
The event featured a panel discussion titled “United for Sustainable Organization Through Good Governance,” in which Dr. Teerapon Tanomsakyut, Board Member, reiterated the board’s role in driving governance from policy to practice. He stressed six key principles: responsibility, transparency, fairness, stakeholder engagement, ethics, and executive accountability—all fundamental to sustainable and credible corporate development, while also serving as role models for transparency and integrity.
Furthermore, Mr. Tanit Chearavanont, CEO – Makro Business Thailand, and Mr. Sompong Rungnirattisai, CEO – Lotus’s Business Thailand, shared practical approaches to embedding governance principles in all aspects of operations, including procurement, nationwide compliance control, and internal governance communications. These efforts ensure all employees understand and move together in the same direction, demonstrating CP Axtra’s “Tone from the Top”—a crucial element in building a strong and enduring culture of governance within the company.
CP Axtra is steadfast in making good governance an integral part of the company’s DNA, driving it through all operational processes at headquarters and over 2,600 Makro and Lotus’s branches nationwide.
