GULF Launches THB100 Million Fund to Support Thai Troops and Civilians Affected by Border Dispute

Gulf Development Public Company Limited (SET: GULF) has established a THB 100 million fund aimed at supporting and uplifting the morale of Thai soldiers stationed along the Thai-Cambodian border, as well as their families.

The initiative is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility, specifically to assist and provide relief for military personnel injured or killed while carrying out security operations. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of life and morale of these soldiers and their families, enabling them to face future challenges with strength.

In a ceremony commemorated by prominent executives—including Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of GULF, and senior Thai Army officials such as Commander-in-Chief General Pana Klaewplodthuk—the company reinforced its dedication to national security and well-being.

Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of GULF, stated: “As a major Thai corporation, we are pleased to support the military and contribute to the country’s security. While the armed forces are already equipped with necessary tools and weapons, we want to focus on improving the quality of life for those soldiers who have been injured, disabled, or lost their lives in the line of duty—a commitment further galvanized by recent mine incidents that have led to injuries among our troops. In addition to providing immediate relief payments and distributing 1,000 survival kits, we have now launched a THB 100 million fund to further support injured and fallen soldiers who have made sacrifices to protect our sovereignty. Moreover, our affiliates, AIS and Thaicom, are collaborating to enhance communication capabilities for security personnel by expanding 4G/5G coverage and satellite connectivity to support seamless operations. Our commitment remains unwavering in supporting those who have been injured, disabled, and the families of those lost, helping them continue their lives with resilience. We also hope for a swift resolution to the ongoing conflict in the border area.”

General Pana Klaewplodthuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, expressed gratitude: “On behalf of the Royal Thai Army, our personnel, and their families, I thank GULF for their generosity and concern for our brave soldiers. The resources provided will be utilized according to the fund’s objectives. GULF has assisted the Army in multiple ways, from improving telecom signals along the border to supplying survival kits. We are sincerely grateful.”

Aside from this fund, GULF continues its broader social missions in the Thai-Cambodian border areas, reflecting a deep commitment to supporting society and standing alongside the nation’s heroes. The Gulf Volunteer team has distributed over 2,000 ‘GULF Care’ survival kits to security personnel and civilians affected and sheltered in provinces such as Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani. GULF has also provided direct financial contributions—most notably, THB 1.2 million—for soldiers injured by landmines during patrols in Ubon Ratchathani’s Chong Bok area to protect the country’s sovereignty, as well as additional funding for the management of relief centers in these provinces.
