Thai Shipping Stocks Rally as Baltic Dry Index Hits Two-Year High

On Thursday at 12:00 PM (Bangkok time), the share price of Thoresen Thai Agencies Public Company Limited (SET: TTA) rose by 2.73% or THB 0.12 to THB 4.52, with a trading value of 13.71 million.

Precious Shipping Public Company Limited (SET: PSL) surged by 2.17% or THB 0.15 to THB 7.05, with a trading value of THB 14.91 million.

Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited (SET: RCL) increased by 0.93% or THB 0.25 to THB 27.25, with a trading value of THB 34.14 million.

Shares of shipping companies rallied, buoyed by the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) rising to 2,845 points as of December 3, 2025—its highest level in two years since touching 2,848 on December 6, 2023.

According to Krungsri Securities (KSS), the BDI for bulk carriers jumped sharply by 9.4% on Wednesday, closing at 2,845—the highest in two years. This positive development is expected to benefit shares of TTA and PSL in the short term, with the analyst recommending a ‘speculative buy’ for the latter.

InnovestX Securities (INVX) echoed this view, noting that PSL stands to gain from strong market sentiment, as the BDI has climbed for 15 consecutive days to 2,845 points—a 9.4% increase from the previous day and up 33% since the start of the current quarter, marking its highest level in more than two years.

The recent surge is attributed to increased demand from China for vessels to transport high-grade iron ore from the Simandou mine, as well as other key minerals used in battery and solar cell production. The brokerage firm set a short-term target price of THB 7.20 for PSL.
