ITD Accepts Full Responsibility of Crane Fall Incident, Assuring No Impact to Other Projects

Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited (SET: ITD) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that with reference to the accident involving a crane lifting concrete segments (Launching Girder), which fell onto a passenger train passing through the construction area of the company’s High-Speed Rail Construction Project, Contract 3-4, resulting in fatalities and injuries as reported in the news.

The company expresses its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and to those who have suffered physical and mental injuries. The company accepts responsibility for providing compensation and relief payments for the losses incurred. The company is currently assessing the damages in collaboration with all related parties and is prepared to expedite remedial actions to return the situation to normal as quickly as possible.

Furthermore, the company has procured insurance to cover potential damages from accidents during construction as per the contract conditions, which includes coverage for third-party liability for injury, death, and property damage. Other projects of the company continue to operate normally.

The High-Speed Rail Construction Project, Contract 3-4, involves the construction of railway structures with a total length of 37.45 kilometers, divided into 14.12 kilometers of at-grade railway and 23.33 kilometers of elevated railway, along with 8 supporting buildings and structures for the electrical system work.
