UOB Thailand Partners with Thammasat to Enhance SME Advisory Capabilities

UOB Thailand has entered into an academic collaboration with Thammasat Business School to jointly develop the NextGen Leadership Excellence: Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders Today programme. The initiative aims to elevate advanced knowledge and critical skills among UOB’s SME Banking advisory teams, empowering them to deliver superior services and support sustainable business growth for SME customers.

Under this partnership, Thammasat Business School and UOB Thailand have co-designed an experiential learning curriculum that builds essential capabilities, including strategic thinking, core business acumen, AI driven customer solutions, and professional communication skills. The programme integrates classroom learning with hands-on experiences such as case studies, interactive workshops, solution design and presentation exercises, as well as lectures from global experts. This approach ensures participants gain insights into global business trends and are equipped to apply them effectively within the SME sector.

Mrs Sayumrat Maranate, Head of SME Banking, UOB Thailand, said “UOB Thailand places strong emphasis on developing our people to ensure we can meet the diverse needs of our customers. This advanced programme by Thammasat not only enhances strategic and business capabilities but also equips our SME advisors to deliver services that combine technological precision with deep business understanding. Ultimately, this will enable us to provide comprehensive financial solutions tailored to our clients’ growth ambitions.”

Assistant Professor Dr Nopthanit Chotisarn, Associate Dean for International and Digital Affairs, Thammasat University, said “We are delighted to continue supporting UOB’s talent development programme, a collaboration that has been ongoing since 2017. This year, we have updated the curriculum to reflect the current business landscape. It incorporates experiential learning and leverages AI technology to facilitate workshops and simulate real business problem-solving. This ensures UOB’s personnel are well-prepared to offer tailored advice and effectively support their customers’ growth.”

Through this collaboration with Thammasat Business School, UOB Thailand continues to strengthen the capabilities of its SME advisors, equipping them to deliver differentiated services and support customers’ sustained long term growth.
