PTT Public Company Limited (SET: PTT) has announced that, due to the prolonged conflict and fighting in the Middle East between Iran, the United States, and Israel—which may impact the global energy supply—PTT and its group companies are closely monitoring, analyzing, and assessing the situation. They are systematically adjusting the country’s energy management plans in alignment with government policies to ensure that Thailand has sufficient energy to meet the demands of its people and its economy.
For crude oil procurement, PTT has international trading business units located around the world with extensive experience in the crude oil trading market. The company manages by rerouting receiving terminals outside the Strait of Hormuz and adjusting its crude oil sourcing plans by supplementing oil from other regions worldwide, such as Africa and America, while coordinating with trading partners to ensure consistent and clear delivery plans. Continuous oil procurement is maintained so that PTT Group refineries—which account for over 60 percent of the country’s refining capacity—can maintain planned production.
For natural gas and LNG procurement, oil and gas producers in the Gulf of Thailand and Myanmar are being requested to maximize natural gas output and postpone annual maintenance schedules. Concurrently, additional Spot LNG is sourced, as assigned by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), to compensate for the shortfall in LNG supply.
All PTT gasoline stations and oil depots are operating 7 days a week, with continuous transport of oil to service stations; each delivery round takes 12–24 hours depending on distance. Due to demand being 2–3 times higher than usual during this period, delivery rounds have increased, resulting in some stations temporarily running out of stock at certain times. PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) is coordinating with all units to fully manage the surging demand.
Finally, the public is urged to use energy efficiently and avoid stockpiling. PTT adds that its stations are fully committed to continuously and thoroughly serving the public.
