GUNKUL and HANA Join MSCI Global Small Cap in August 2026 Review

MSCI Inc., the leading provider of global investment indexes, has released the results of its latest index review, announcing changes to its widely-followed benchmarks that are set to take effect on August 31, 2026.

For the MSCI Thailand Index, there will be no additions or deletions in this review cycle. The composition of the Thailand index remains unchanged, providing stability for investors tracking Thai equities through MSCI’s benchmarks.

However, notable changes have been made to the MSCI Global Small Cap Index, affecting several Thai stocks. According to MSCI’s latest announcement, two companies—Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited (SET: GUNKUL) and Hana Microelectronics Public Company Limited (SET HANA)—will be added to the MSCI Global Small Cap Index. Conversely, Chularat Hospital Public Company Limited (SET CHG) and Jasmine Technology Solution Public Company Limited (SET: JTS) will be removed from the index.

The upcoming MSCI index adjustment is closely watched by investors worldwide, as inclusions or exclusions can influence capital flows, particularly from funds that passively track MSCI indexes. These changes will become effective at the market close on August 31, 2026.
