Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,601.05 points, decreased 12.73 points or 0.79%, with a trading value of THB 60.9 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai stock market slumped along with regional markets’ trend, as DELTA and HANA faced selling pressures from semiconductor weakness.
This came after soaring U.S. bond yields and Middle East volatility put pressure on global equity markets, with the lack of new supporting factors providing no cushioning for the sentiment.
For tomorrow, the analyst expects the Thai market to potentially rebound.
China continues its aggressive gold accumulation strategy, with recent data revealing that China acquired approximately 40 tonnes of gold via the London over-the-counter (OTC) market in June 2026—its second-largest monthly purchase since early 2025.
This volume is particularly striking given the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) officially reported only a 15-tonne increase in gold reserves during June, suggesting an underreporting of 167% compared to the actual gold being added through unofficial channels.
