SET Index Sees Marginal Retreat on DELTA Pressure, Investors Eye ‘Thailand Focus’ Event

On Tuesday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,598.11 points, showing a decrease of 2.94 points or 0.18%, with a trading value of THB 36.18 billion.

Krungsri Securities (KSS) stated that the Thai stock market has been attempting to establish a base this morning, though it remains under pressure from the technology sector in both the United States and North Asia. This has led to selling pressure in DELTA.

However, banks and power plants have provided support for the market, reflecting themes of increased investment anticipation ahead of the Thailand Focus 2026 event, scheduled for August 26-28.

Further bolstering sentiment are signs of accelerated investment related to the Board of Investment and the positive growth in bank lending during the first seven months of the year. These factors are seen as positive developments for Thailand’s investment landscape, helping to provide market stability.

For the afternoon session, Krungsri expects the Thai bourse to continue moving within a range, providing a support level at 1,593-1,590 points and a resistance level at 1,611-1,620 points.

The five securities with the highest trading value are as follows:
