Thai Listed Companies Report 22% Profit Growth For 1H26 Performance as Economy Continues to Recover

  • Q2/2026 earnings continued to grow on the back of economic expansion, driving H1/2026 net profit up 22 percent YoY
  • Rising oil prices contributed to a turnaround in petrochemical sector profits
  • Nearly all business sectors recorded growth in the first half of the year

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Markets Officer Soravis Krairiksh stated that 800 listed companies, representing 95 percent of the total 839 companies (comprising SET-listed and mai-listed companies scheduled to submit financial statements for the period ended June 30, 2026, and excluding real estate investment trusts or REITs and infrastructure funds or IFFs), have submitted their H1/2026 earnings reports. Of these, 592 listed companies reported net profits, representing 74 percent of all companies that submitted financial statements.

Operating results for Q2/2026 recovered across nearly all business sectors, contributing positively to H1/2026 performance compared to the same period of the prior year. SET-listed companies reported total sales of THB 8.75 trillion, up 7.5 percent; operating profit of THB 952.56 billion, up 64.5 percent; and net profit of THB 765.97 billion, up 22.2 percent. Core profit margin stood at 10.9 percent, up from 7.1 percent a year earlier. As of June 30, 2026, the debt-to-equity ratio (D/E ratio), excluding the Financials industry, was 1.28 times, down from 1.30 times in Q2/2025.

“Continued economic expansion in Q2 drove broad-based growth across nearly all sectors in H1/2026. The petrochemicals sector posted higher operating results and profit margins. The industrials sector improved, with technology and electronics growing driven by digital expansion. Services were also buoyed by tourism and consumption. However, commercial banks were affected by a lower policy interest rate compared to the prior year, while food and agricultural businesses faced pressure from declining commodity prices,” said Soravis.

As for the Market for Alternative Investment (mai), listed companies reported H1/2026 results with total sales of THB 108.87 billion, up 8.5 percent; operating profit of THB 8.43 billion, up 21.5 percent; and total net profit of THB 4.77 billion, up 17.1 percent year on year.
