DAOL Securities (Thailand) wrote that Mr. Surasak Phancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, is scheduled to hold discussions with Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, on September 8, 2026, regarding the anticipated ‘Thai Tiew Thai Plus’ stimulus measures.
The outcome of these discussions could finalize key details of the program, which is expected to have a budget allocation of THB 4 billion, targeting the distribution of one million entitlements. The proposal is expected to be submitted for consideration by the Cabinet in the following week. Public registration for the scheme is planned to open on October 1, 2026, which will allow the allocation of one million benefits to citizens.
The scheme is designed to support the tourism sector through two primary components. The first component offers accommodation discounts of up to THB 3,000 per entitlement, with a total budget of THB 3 billion assigned for this purpose. The second component provides travel vouchers worth THB 1,000 per entitlement, backed by a THB 1 billion budget.
The value of these travel vouchers has been increased from the previous program’s THB 500, and the usage scope, which was formerly limited to restaurants, has been expanded to include businesses related to tourism services such as spas and wellness services. This expansion aims to disperse income to a broader range of operators in the tourism sector.
DAOL anticipates that this program will be particularly positive for companies such as ERW and CENTEL, which have significant exposure to the hospitality sector.
Similarly, Krungsri Securities (KSS) has assessed that the ‘Thai Tiew Thai Plus’ initiative will provide a positive boost to tourism-related stocks, especially those with substantial domestic hotel portfolios, including AWC, ERW, and CENTEL.
