Amata and B.Grimm Power Invest THB1.2 Billion in 42.5MWp Floating Solar Project

Amata Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: AMATA) and B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (SET: BGRIM) continue to develop a floating solar power project at Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate through Amata B.Grimm Renewable Energy Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Amata U Co., Ltd., which holds a 75% stake, and B.Grimm Power Smart Solution Co., Ltd., which holds the remaining 25%.

The THB 1.2 billion solar energy project, with an installed capacity of up to 42.5 megawatt-peak (MWp), will use reservoir space within Amata City Chonburi Industrial Estate to help meet the renewable electricity needs of investors in Amata’s industrial city and support the industrial sector’s transition to a low-carbon economy.

Once commercial operations begin, the project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 29,300 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually.

Mr. Satha Vanlabhpatana, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Amata B.Grimm Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. and Chief Strategy Officer of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, said that Amata’s strategic direction places sustainability at the center of its long-term growth.

In his role overseeing the company’s strategy and sustainability priorities, he emphasized the importance of developing efficient, environmentally responsible infrastructure that enables industrial-estate entrepreneurs to access renewable energy, strengthen their competitiveness, and respond to growing expectations around greenhouse gas reduction.

“This project reflects Amata’s commitment to transforming Amata City into a smart and sustainable industrial city while advancing our goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040,” said Mr. Satha.

Mr. Saroche Arunpairojkul, Executive Vice President – Industrial Customer Relations and Operation Management at B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited, said that the collaboration between B.Grimm Power and Amata brings together the companies’ expertise in energy and industrial-city development to create energy solutions that meet the evolving needs of industrial customers.

The collaboration is aligned with B.Grimm Power’s GreenLeap – Global and Green strategy, which focuses on expanding the company’s renewable energy portfolio and industrial customer base while advancing its goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

“B.Grimm Power aims to increase the share of clean energy in its power generation portfolio to more than 50% by 2030. We are developing a diverse range of energy solutions to meet the needs of customers across all sectors and support Thailand’s long-term net-zero carbon emissions target,” said Mr. Saroche.

Mr. Chawalit Tippawanich, Chief Executive Officer of Amata U Co., Ltd., said the floating solar project strengthens Amata U’s role as a green infrastructure and utility platform for Amata’s industrial cities. By using reservoir space efficiently without requiring additional land, the project expands renewable-energy access for industrial customers, supports a more reliable and lower-carbon utility system, and reinforces Amata City Chonburi’s readiness to serve high-tech, digital, and advanced manufacturing industries.

With a long-term commitment to supporting tenants and responding to the evolving needs of investors, Amata U will continue to work with strategic partners to expand clean-energy supply and develop utility solutions that enable future industrial growth.

The longstanding partnership with B.Grimm Power reflects Amata’s broader direction of connecting land, utilities, ecosystem partners, and long-term management into a coherent platform that supports business competitiveness, community value, and environmental sustainability.
