Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,583.34 points, increasing by 20.61 points or 1.32%, with a trading value of THB 62.46 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai stock market recovered better than expected, due to declining oil prices and the Federal Reserve raising policy rates as anticipated.
Furthermore, today’s rally was led by buying interest in DELTA and the major banking names, despite some selling pressure in PTTEP.
For tomorrow, the analyst expects the Thai market to maintain the positive momentum.
The U.S. Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points, bringing the federal funds target range to 3.75% – 4.00%, marking its first rate increase since July 2023 as policymakers seek to contain persistent inflation.
The Ministry of Finance is considering the introduction of an approximately 30% excise tax on fully imported electric vehicles (CBU EVs). This is part of a broader initiative to restructure the tax system in alignment with the long-term development of the country’s electric vehicle industry.
Iran is prepared to pursue a diplomatic resolution to its conflict with the United States rather than continue fighting. However, Tehran would maintain its defense of rights it regards as legitimate while seeking a return to negotiations.
