Brokers project positive outlooks for the Thai stock market on Wednesday, supported by softer oil prices and improving external sentiment. Investors are also monitoring policy clarity at home and high-level talks between the United States and China.
Kasikorn Securities expects the Thai benchmark to move sideways-up after Brent crude slipped below $100 a barrel. The decline followed positive signals from Donald Trump regarding discussions with Iran, while expectations surrounding a meeting between U.S. and Chinese leaders also helped market sentiment.
Domestically, Kasikorn recommends investors closely watch for further clarity on data center regulations.
The securities firm set a support level for the SET Index at 1,590 points, and a resistance level at 1,620 points.
Separately, Daol Securities also expects the Thai bourse to maintain a sideway-up pattern, citing a still-favorable investment backdrop. The brokerage noted particular strength in sentiment toward semiconductor-related shares.
Market participants remain focused on the planned summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the analyst remarked. However, Daol said continued weakness in crude prices could limit gains in energy stocks.
Yesterday, Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,604.44 points, increasing by 6.41 points or 0.40%, with a trading value of THB 67.05 billion.
