Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,577.65 points, increasing by 7.04 points or 0.45%, with a trading value of THB 53.54 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai stock market traded sideways after the U.S. bond yields declined, raising investors’ risk appetite.
The power plant sector led today’s gain, as market participants capitalized on lower yields and a stronger baht. Nevertheless, upside risk remains limited as investors monitor listed companies’ 3Q26 financial reports.
For next week, the banking sector will begin announcing the quarter’s results, with earnings previews for other listed names coming out concurrently.
With this backdrop, the analyst expects the Thai market to recover next week.
Thailand is set to open its doors to over 15,000 policymakers, economists, government officials, private sector executives, and media representatives from 191 countries who are coming together to jointly shape the direction of the global economy in the highly anticipated 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group—an event, given its scale, that was often dubbed the “Olympics of Finance.”
