Mrs. Wallapa Traisorat, Chief Executive Officer and President, Asset World Corp Public Company Limited or AWC, said, “We are very excited to launch the first InterContinental – one of the most luxurious and lifestyle-oriented brands under IHG – in Northern Thailand. This hotel came to life after a full renovation of the prestigious Imperial Mae Ping Hotel – the first hotel ever in TCC Group’s hotel portfolio and one of the best hotels in Chiang Mai that hosted many famous guests from Thailand and around the world. Chiang Mai is the one of the top global destinations and known among global travelers as the center of history, art and culture of Thailand. We developed InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping to be a unique luxury hotel and the first in Thailand to use the living museum model that offers a creative online experience for guests to enjoy and learn about the enriched cultural, spiritual and artistic legacy of Lanna heritage through innovative Augmented Reality (AR) interactive technology to create virtual content about the hotel’s design and decoration.”

“InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping is located in the best location of Chiang Mai where AWC has a strategic plan to develop the Lannatique project. This mixed development project will include art and culture villages, four leading hotels and other properties in the area to transform the Chang Klan district into the heart of Thailand’s art and culture, which will attract a growing number of quality global travelers to Chiang Mai.”

“Moreover, with AWC’s vision of ‘Building a Better Future’ and our commitment to sustainable development, we are very proud that the InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping is the first hotel in Chiang Mai to receive pre-certified LEED for building design and construction and pre-certified WELL to create long-term sustainable values for all stakeholders and surrounding communities, as well as strengthening Chiang Mai as a global sustainable tourism destination.”
