True Corporation Deploys Cell-on-Wheel Unit in Flooded Mae Hong Son to Support Recovery Efforts

True Corporation Plc. (SET: TRUE) is closely monitoring heavy floods across Northern Thailand. Most recently, its network teams have deployed a Cell-on-Wheel (COW) unit in Ban Pha Bong, Mae Hong Son Province, to reinforce mobile signals at critical locations. This initiative ensures communication for local communities and supports the operations of government agencies, the military, local authorities, and volunteers mobilizing to assist flood victims and restore affected areas promptly.

True Corporation has strengthened disaster monitoring and is maintaining 24-hour monitoring amid warnings from the Thai Meteorological Department of Typhoon Nongfa, which is forecast to pass through Northern Thailand and bring continuous rainfall from 31 August to 1 September. Several provinces are at risk of heavy rainfall, flash floods, and runoff.

Ban Pha Bong and nearby areas in Mae Hong Son were recently devastated by flash floods triggered by Typhoon Kajiki, which caused severe damage to homes and vehicles. Although floodwaters have receded, large amounts of debris, soil, and mud continue to block routes, disrupting transportation and daily life.

Recognizing the critical role of both voice and data communications during crises, True Corporation dispatched a Cell-on-Wheel (COW) unit along with network engineers to Ban Pha Bong. The teams are also inspecting base stations and installing power generators to ensure uninterrupted service in the event of power outages caused by heavy rain. This enables reliable communications to support the operations of government officials, the military, and local administrative organizations working to assist residents, repair damaged homes, clear debris, and restore affected areas.

In addition, True Corporation has activated a dedicated War Room at its Business and Network Intelligence Center (BNIC), integrated with AI systems to monitor and manage the nationwide network on a 24-hour basis. The company is working closely with the NBTC, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), and other agencies to continuously support relief operations. True remains committed to standing by the Thai people and ensuring connectivity during natural disasters.
