KH Academy recently advanced its commitment to societal development, a core tenet of ‘Kaohoon Turakij,’ by holding a KH Legal Aid seminar aimed at enhancing public legal literacy. The latest seminar focused on financial law aimed at reducing vulnerability to investment fraud among the Thai public.
Attended by nearly 100 participants, the event took place on January 17, 2026, at the KH Academy Ratchathewi Campus. The seminar operated under the theme of increasing financial law awareness to mitigate economic and investment risks.
Mr. Prakong Dulkanij, Provincial Public Prosecutor attached to the Office of the Attorney General, served as the key speaker. He delivers practical guidance on laws governing securities and stock exchanges, public limited companies, as well as anti-money laundering regulations. Participants examined core legal principles designed to protect both consumers and investors from financial crime, while also learning to identify potentially illegal practices and avoid inadvertently violating the law.
Mr. Prakong underscored three main objectives for the session. He aimed to raise awareness among university students and the general public regarding lawful and unlawful actions under current statutes, clarify penalties for violations, and provide tools for recognizing and sidestepping fraudulent investment schemes. He also highlighted the importance of understanding how to steer clear of becoming either a victim or a perpetrator in financial wrongdoing.
The seminar drew strong interest from students and the public, who commented that the training closed significant gaps in their understanding and could be applied in their daily lives and shared with others. Attendees noted the wide range of topics discussed, extending from public company regulations to practical issues such as fraud and money laundering, which are increasingly relevant in an environment where scams like mule accounts frequently appear in the news.
A student from Thammasat University remarked that the event provided real case examples and recommended steps for handling scams, while another, from Srinakharinwirot University, expressed appreciation for information on securities laws directly applicable to everyday investment activity, particularly stock trading.
KH Legal Aid organizes monthly seminars free of charge. Further updates and registration details are available through the KH Academy’s Facebook, Instagram, and mobile application on Android and iOS.
