KH Academy has continued its mission to promote legal literacy within society by hosting a seminar as part of the KH Legal Aid initiative. Held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the KH Academy Ratchathewi Campus, the seminar was titled ‘Understanding Public Company Law: Essentials for Shareholders and Investors.’
The event aimed to strengthen public understanding of the structure, rights, and legal obligations under the Public Limited Companies Act, a key mechanism in capital mobilization and the functioning of the national economy. The seminar drew widespread interest, attracting university students, investors, and members of the general public.

The seminar featured Mr. Wuttichai Phumsanguan, an esteemed legal expert, as the guest speaker. Mr. Wuttichai provided a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of various aspects of the public company framework. Key topics included the corporate structure of public limited companies, the authority and roles of executives and company directors—who play pivotal roles in policy-setting, risk management, and safeguarding organizational interests—as well as the rights and protections of shareholders, mechanisms for legal recourse, and responsibility in preventing conflicts of interest. The purpose was to enable attendees to apply this legal knowledge effectively to protect their own rights.
According to Mr. Wuttichai, the Public Limited Companies Act is a significant piece of legislation that touches the lives of all citizens. Public companies are major drivers of national revenue, production of goods and services, and are instrumental in propelling Thailand’s gross domestic product. He noted that public companies also serve as key foundations for the development of the country’s large-scale infrastructure projects.
“Public company law is directly relevant to everyone in society,” Mr. Wuttichai stated. “Even if people do not directly hold company shares, they may have exposure through mutual funds such as social security, which affect pensions and daily living. Hence, whether one is a shareholder, investor, or a member of the public, it is essential to be familiar with this law.”
Mr. Wuttichai further stressed the importance of shareholder engagement in monitoring and scrutinizing corporate operations. The Public Limited Companies Act underscores transparency and shareholder participation. He advised shareholders to regularly review company disclosures, including operating results, investment activities, financial management, and business plans, and to evaluate whether publicly disclosed information accurately reflects the firm’s actual practices.
“By being observant—even noticing small irregularities—shareholders protect their own interests, as well as those of the nation,” he remarked. “A transparent public company is more attractive to foreign investors, generates more economic activity, and creates more jobs, thereby supporting the wider economy. Should shareholders have concerns, they can collaborate in accordance with legal requirements to formally request that the company hold a general meeting to clarify any matters of transparency,” Mr. Wuttichai added.
The KH Legal Aid seminar is among several social initiatives offered by KH Academy in support of the core mission of Kaohoon Turakij, which is to disseminate knowledge for public benefit and help advance the quality of Thai society.
