Thailand Condemns Cambodian Leader’s Remarks, Warns of Diplomatic Fallout

On Wednesday, Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, revealed that there have been inquiries from various media outlets regarding recent comments made by the Cambodian leader on social media. These comments included remarks interpreted as calls for, and a desire to see, a change in Thailand’s government leadership on July 1, 2025.

The Thai government considers such actions to be interference in Thailand’s internal affairs, which constitutes a serious violation of the ASEAN Charter, the United Nations Charter, and international law.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, speaking on behalf of the Thai government, strongly called for the Cambodian leader to immediately cease such actions, stating that such conduct could seriously harm bilateral relations, and urged Cambodia to swiftly and peacefully resolve any issues between the two nations.
