BA reported a net profit in 2Q25 of Baht 401.75 million, an decrease of Baht 310.47 million or 43.59% compared to the previous year. The decreased net profit was due to a decline in passenger revenue, which resulted from both a lower in passenger numbers and average fare compared to the previous year.
In the second quarter of 2025, the company reported total revenue of 5,735.1 million baht, representing a 1.1 percent decrease compared to 2024. This was primarily due to a decline in passenger revenue. In addition, the average fare softened by 2.6 percent, representing 3,894.5 baht per flight. This was the result of weakened passenger demand travelling to Thailand since February of this year, along with the impact of the low season period. During this quarter, the Company carried approximately 0.9 million passengers, while seat capacity increased by 5.1 percent to 1.3 million seats. As a result, the average passenger load factor stood at 69.6 percent.
Total expenses increased by 3.5 percent quarter-on-quarter, mainly driven by higher personnel costs and foreign exchange losses. As a result, the company recorded an operating profit of 895.0 million baht, a decrease of 8.3 percent from 2024. Net profit for the quarter was reported at 405.7 million baht.
In the first half of 2025, the Company served 2.2 million passengers, representing a 2.6 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2024. The decline in passenger numbers was mainly attributed to a decrease in point-of-sale from Asia, while passenger numbers from Europe continued to grow.
The company recorded an operating profit of 3,238.6 million baht, a 3.8 percent decrease year-on-year, primarily due to a drop in passenger revenue from airline business. Nevertheless, revenue from airport-related businesses and airport business increased by 14.3 percent and 14.2 percent, respectively.
