BCPG Public Company Limited (SET: BCPG) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that the Monsoon Wind Power Project, which has a capacity of 600 megawatts and located in Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), has officially commenced commercial operation (Commercial Operation Date: COD) and has started generating and transmitting electricity from Laos to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) transmission system on August 22, 2025.
BCPG has participated in the development of the Monsoon Wind Power Project with a net ownership stake of 48.25%.
Meanwhile, STP&I Public Company Limited (SET: STPI) has invested as an indirect shareholder in Monsoon Wind Power Company Limited (MWPCL) since January 2023, with a total investment of $44.20 million or equivalent to THB 1,531.18 million, representing an ultimate shareholding of 15.87% of MWPCL’s paid-up capital.
The project is in the districts of Sekong and Attapeu in Laos and supplies electricity into the transmission system to sell electricity to EVN under a 25-year Cross Border Power Purchase Agreement.
