Thai Consumer Goods Stocks Surge amid Optimism from Gov’t Stimulus and Baht Depreciation

On Wednesday at 2:12 PM (Bangkok time), the share price of Thaifoods Group Public Company Limited (SET: TFG) soared by 5.26% or THB 0.26 to THB 5.20, with a trading value of THB 263.41 million.

Betagro Public Company Limited (SET: BTG) surged by 3.31% or THB 0.60 to THB 18.70, with a trading value of THB 184.11 million.

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (SET: CPF) increased by 1.32% or THB 0.30 to THB 23.10, with a trading value of THB 358.75 million.

GFPT Public Company Limited (SET: GFPT) climbed by 0.50% or THB 0.05 to THB 10.00, with a trading value of THB 10.30 million.

Yuanta Securities (Thailand) stated that export-oriented shares have started to recover, supported by the baht’s continued depreciation, which has improved market sentiment for companies such as CPF, TFG, GFPT, BTG, ITC, as well as tourism stocks including ERW and CENTEL.

Krungthai XSpring Securities noted the Cabinet approved the ‘Khon La Khrueng Plus’ co-payment scheme worth THB 44 billion, in line with expectations. The program allows consumers to purchase food, beverages, and general products from Blue Flag stores, small local shops, participating restaurants, and food delivery platforms.

The measure is seen as a positive boost for consumer goods producers such as BTG, CPF, GFPT, TFG, CBG, and OSP, as well as retail and wholesale operators like CPAXT, BJC, and CRC, which are expected to benefit from increased product purchases through participating merchants. Food delivery platforms such as GRAB80 are also likely to see increased transaction volume.

Meanwhile, as Thailand’s Finance Minister added that the government will roll out additional stimulus measures next week, analysts believe the upcoming policies will likely focus on supporting the tourism sector and boosting consumption among middle- and upper-income earners.

This is expected to benefit tourism and aviation-related stocks such as ERW, CENTEL, MINT, BA, AOT, as well as retail and department store operators, including HMPRO, BJC, CRC, CPN, and SYNEX.
