Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) announced that its project review committee has approved an investment promotion application submitted by WeAreOne.World (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a Thai-Belgian joint venture, for hosting international music, sports, and festival events.
This initiative includes staging Thailand’s first-ever global electronic dance music (EDM) festival under the name ‘Tomorrowland Thailand.’ The inaugural event is scheduled for December 2026 at Wisdom Valley in Chonburi Province.
Set to run over three days, the festival is expected to host up to 50,000 attendees daily, with over 60% projected to be international visitors. Over the course of five years, the event is estimated to generate at least THB 21 billion in total economic value.
Tomorrowland Thailand is a collaboration between Belgium-based TL International, a Tomorrowland Group affiliate with over two decades of experience in organizing EDM festivals worldwide, and Thailand’s One Asia Ventures, which has a track record in arranging high-profile festivals such as the Siam Songkran Music Festival and other international events over the past decade.
The partnership aims to attract global visitors, boost the local economy, and elevate Thailand’s tourism profile, making the country the first in Asia to host the globally renowned Tomorrowland festival.
In conjunction with the festival, the Tomorrowland Academy will be launched to share international standards and expertise in festival organization with Thai professionals, enhancing local capabilities in the tourism and events sectors.
According to BOI guidelines, projects seeking promotional privileges in the “organization of music, sports, and international festivals” category must have a minimum investment or event cost of THB 100 million.
Qualifying projects receive benefits such as import duty exemptions on equipment and machinery, as well as assistance with visas and work permits for foreign artists and event staff, coordinated through BOI’s One Stop Service Center in partnership with the Immigration Bureau and Ministry of Labour at the One Bangkok building.
Krungsri Securities (KSS) stated the Tomorrowland Thailand event is poised to directly benefit tourism and service sector stocks, citing anticipated increases in travel and visitor spending. Stocks likely to benefit include Airports of Thailand (AOT), Central Plaza Hotel (CENTEL), The Erawan Group (ERW), and CP All (CPALL).
According to DAOL Securities (Thailand), the Tomorrowland event is expected to generate substantial revenue nationally, as ticket packages, including travel and accommodation, may reach THB 70,000-100,000 per person. However, there is still some uncertainty regarding the final event venue.
The brokerage firm highlighted that hotel operators stand to gain directly, with ERW and CENTEL among the prime beneficiaries by proportion of domestic revenue, followed by Minor International (MINT) and S Hotels & Resorts (SHR).
