Mr. Natapon Khamthakrue, Assistant Managing Director of Securities Analysis at Yuanta Securities (Thailand), stated that the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index closed the morning session lower by 0.38%, or 5.02 points, at 1,326.05 points, in line with other Asian markets, as investors await the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the nominee for Chairman of the Federal Reserve (Fed) today.
Domestically, there is pressure on DELTA and the electronics parts group after the U.S. Treasury Department listed Thailand among major trading partners on the monitoring list for potentially unfair currency exchange practices, and due to the rising price of copper.
Additionally, the energy sector faced selling pressure, causing a market correction. However, there was buying in domestic play stocks on speculation ahead of next week’s election, helping to support the market.
The afternoon outlook is expected to fluctuate within a range, with the index likely to decline. Support is seen at 1,320 points, and resistance at 1,330 points.
