Mr. Nopadej Karnasuta, Chief Executive Officer for Thailand, Malaysia and Energy & Industrial Solutions Business of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (SET: BGRIM), stated that CMT Energy Co. Ltd. (CMT), a subsidiary of BGRIM in collaboration with SCG Cleanergy Co. Ltd. (SCG Cleanergy), has commenced commercial operation of the ground-mounted solar power plant project (CMT1), with an installed capacity of 10 megawatts, on January 28, 2026, in Lampang province.
The CMT1 project is the first project under the group of renewable energy procurement projects in the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) scheme for 2022–2030 for the segment without fuel cost. It was selected according to the regulations of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), with a power purchase agreement price of THB 2.1679 per kilowatt-hour throughout the 25-year contract period with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The total installed capacity for this group is over 323 MWp, with commercial operation scheduled progressively from 2026 to 2030.
Mr. Nopadej stated that the commercial operation date (COD) of the CMT1 is in line with BGRIM’s goal of continuously expanding its renewable energy investment portfolio, both domestically and internationally, to achieve its strategic objective of becoming a leading global energy company. This aligns with BGRIM’s long-term strategy and their commitment to enhancing business cooperation with partners both in Thailand and abroad.
The strategic partnership with SCG Cleanergy represents BGRIM’s tangible implementation of its “GreenLeap-Global and Green” strategy, emphasizing diversification of its renewable portfolio in terms of geography and technology. This supports the vision of becoming a global leader in renewable energy and forms a vital foundation for achieving Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050 and reaching 10,000 megawatts of installed capacity by 2030.
The success of the CMT1 project demonstrates the potential under the collaboration between BGRIM and SCG Cleanergy in developing Government PPA projects and serves as a key model for future Big Lot Government PPA projects. This ongoing effort aims to contribute to a sustainable clean energy system for the country and long-term sustainable growth.
