Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, led the Cabinet to announce the government’s policy statement to Parliament, highlighting the “10 Plus” (Thailand 10 Plus) policy as the main policy framework for the administration. The policy focuses on four key objectives: “Internal Stability, Self-Sufficiency for Thai People, Competitive Economy, and Global Trust in Thailand.” The policy structure is divided into five main policies (five pillars) and five strategic clusters as follows:
- Building a New Economy by focusing on inclusive growth and improving competitiveness,
- Enhancing Global Security by elevating Thailand’s role on the international stage to build confidence,
- Providing Social Welfare, improving quality of life and the public health system, such as the “Immediate Care Anywhere” policy,
- Preserving the Environment, coping with natural disasters, and promoting environmental policy,
- Reforming the Public Sector by using technology to increase transparency, reduce citizens’ burdens, and address corruption issues. The government will drive these policies through key strategic clusters.
Stock Groups to Benefit
According to Asia Plus Securities, the government’s policy announcement to Parliament on April 9-10, 2026, will serve as a short-term factor supporting the investment environment. The core policies are expected to focus on stimulating the grassroots economy and tourism to sustain purchasing power and drive continuous economic recovery.
Expected highlighted policies include:
- Grassroots Consumption Stimulus Measures, such as the digital cash giveaway project, subsidies for vulnerable groups, and tax reduction measures to stimulate middle-class spending, such as the “Shop Help the Nation” or E-Receipt measures.
- Tourism Stimulation Measures, such as accommodation subsidies, travel coupons, domestic travel promotion, or consideration of further visa exemptions.
Additionally, positive factors on the cost side are present, as the Energy Policy Administration Committee (EPAC) announced a reduction in the diesel fuel price at the pump by 2.14 baht/liter effective from April 9, 2026, which will help alleviate inflationary pressures and support the population’s purchasing power in the short term.
These issues have positive implications for several industrial groups, especially those with high transportation costs and those benefiting from domestic purchasing power:
- Transport-Logistics Group: This group directly benefits as their main costs—over 30-40%—are diesel fuel. The reduction in diesel prices will help recover their gross margin. Recommended stocks: Asia Aviation Public Company Limited (AAV), Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited (BA), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), SCGJWD Logistics Public Company Limited (SJWD).
- Retail-Wholesale-Shopping Center and Hotel Group: Reduced distribution and operational costs, along with support from the government’s purchasing power stimulus measures, will help boost sales and expenditures within the system. Outstanding stocks: CP All Public Company Limited (CPALL), CP Axtra Public Company Limited (CPAXT), Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN), The Erawan Group Public Company Limited (ERW), Minor International Public Company Limited (MINT).
- Agriculture and Food Group: Lower diesel prices reduce the cost of agricultural machinery and transportation of raw materials and fresh foods to the market. Recommended stocks: Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF), Carabao Group Public Company Limited (CBG), Ichitan Group Public Company Limited (ICHI).
- Hire-Purchase and Microfinance Group: Assistance measures for vulnerable groups will see some funds flow back into the economy and may be used for debt payments or overdue car installments, improving credit quality. Highlighted stocks: Muangthai Capital Public Company Limited (MTC), Ngern Tid Lor Public Company Limited (TIDLOR).
Asia Plus Securities stated that the combination of economic stimulus measures and reduced energy costs will be a boost to Domestic Play stocks, particularly groups linked to consumption, tourism, and transportation, potentially bringing significant short-term momentum to the Thai stock market.
