Maybank Securities (Thailand) has expressed a positive view for tourism-related stocks, following the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)’s intention to revise its forecast for international arrivals upward in 2026 from a 1-2% year-on-year decline, as the impact from the Middle East conflict has been less severe than originally expected.

Strategically, the brokerage believes current share prices in the tourism sector present attractive opportunities for gradual accumulation, despite ongoing uncertainties in the Middle East. The number of foreign visitors to Thailand is now expected to continue rising year-on-year throughout the third quarter of 2026.

Following a positive reaction in AOT to these developments on Thursday, Maybank anticipates that attention will shift to hotel stocks, particularly ERW, which operates a significant number of domestic hotels and is seeing robust profit growth from its HOP INN chain. Other hotel companies, including MINT and CENTEL, are also expected to benefit from this improved tourism outlook.
