Thai Airways Unveils “Junior Sky Explorers” Mascots to Engage with Young Travelers

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (SET: THAI) officially unveiled its  “Junior Sky Explorers” mascots for the first time at the “Rak Khun Tao Fah 2026” event, held from 4–7 June 2026 at Sphere Gallery 1, M Floor, EMSPHERE. The launch aims to create fun and memorable moments for every journey while strengthening THAI’s connection with modern families.

At the event, THAI was honored to welcome Abigail Rangsisingpipat, also known as “Nong Gale,” who joined as a “Junior Air-bassador,” bringing charm and delight to the official launch.

Mr. Kittiphong Sansomboon, THAI’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated, “Junior Sky Explorers is THAI’s first group of mascots created especially for young travelers. Inspired by animals familiar to Thai people in Thailand, the mascots have been developed into distinctive and approachable characters designed to bring happiness, connection, and a new travel experience to children and families. They can also be further developed into in-flight entertainment content, licensed merchandise, and tourism, which will contribute to the company’s ancillary revenue growth in the long term.”

Mr. Kittiphong further shared the concept behind the project, saying, “Junior Sky Explorers was created under the concept ‘Dream Big, Fly Far’, designed to inspire the next generation to dream because every great journey always begins with someone’s small dream. We hope that when children get to know Junior Sky Explorers, they will not only meet cartoon characters, but also friends, inspiration, and the courage to discover the wider world on their own.”

The Junior Sky Explorers mascot group consists of five characters: “Benja (Ben),” a fighting rooster from Phitsanulok and a courageous leader; “Iyara (Ice),” a Thai elephant from Surin and a warm-hearted protector; “Wila (Way),” a Wichien Maat cat from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, representing elegance and good fortune; “Thui,” a water buffalo from Phatthalung and a loyal friend; and “Rika,” a common myna from Songkhla, a witty little genius full of cleverness. Each character reflects Thai identity through diverse personalities, while sharing the same purpose: to invite young passengers to travel, discover the wider world, and create smiles on every flight. The mascots are also planned for further development into the company’s products, such as souvenirs and Sky Junior cards for young Royal Orchid Plus members.

Junior Sky Explorers forms part of THAI’s strategy to build engagement with passengers from an early age. Currently, THAI has more than 33,000 young Royal Orchid Plus members and carries more than 300,000 child passengers per year, reflecting strong growth opportunities through distinctive experiences that meet the needs of modern families.

In the future, THAI plans to develop travel routes for “little adventurers” through Royal Orchid Holidays by connecting the stories of the mascots with their provinces of origin, namely Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Phatthalung, Phitsanulok, Surin, and Songkhla. This initiative aims to promote domestic tourism and further strengthen the connection between the brand and its passengers.
