Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (SET: BDMS) has announced the launch of WellEra, a landmark wellness-integrated ecosystem, representing an investment of over 29 billion baht on a prime Lumpini district site in Bangkok. Scheduled to open fully in 2030, the project is set to mark a new chapter for BDMS, expanding its core healthcare and scientific wellness expertise into a multi-dimensional, lifestyle-focused complex.
WellEra will comprise four major elements—BDMS Wellness Clinic, Capella-branded Wellness Residence, Urban Wellness Retreat, and Lifestyle Retail—creating a comprehensive model for preventative and personalized healthcare living. An integral part of the residential component will be developed in partnership with Capella Hotel Group, a move highlighting the project’s aspiration to blend luxury hospitality with proactive healthcare and technology.

Financially, wellness-related businesses have become key drivers for BDMS, accounting for approximately 12% of the company’s 2025 revenue, equivalent to 13.6 billion baht out of a total 113.272 billion baht. With the global wellness economy projected to expand from USD 6.8 trillion to USD 9.8 trillion by 2029, and Thailand’s market already valued at USD 42.7 billion, BDMS positions WellEra at the heart of these growth trends. The project’s focus aligns with national efforts to make Thailand a global medical and wellness hub, further supporting health tourism, wellness real estate, and sustainable quality-of-life assets.
The project is set to span over 200,000 square metres, integrating international standards such as LEED Gold, Fitwel 3-Star, and WELL Platinum for green, health-promoting environments. Advanced air, water, light, sound, and thermal controls, combined with on-site medical services, represent BDMS’s strategy to move beyond reactive healthcare into everyday proactive wellbeing. With continuous health monitoring and personalized services, WellEra will also prioritise environmental sustainability and biophilic design.
By driving innovation in wellness real estate and creating a new model for living standards, BDMS aims to attract international recognition, reflecting the group’s growing appeal among global investors and health-focused clientele. WellEra is positioned to boost Thailand’s ambitions for economic expansion in the health sector and to serve as a blueprint for future wellness-focused urban developments in the region.
