This video statement was published following an official declaration from the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok, expressing regret over the actions of the Italian tourists. According to the Embassy, the individuals involved were young people visiting Thailand as part of a school educational excursion. The Embassy publicly condemned the actions in the video and extended its apologies to Thai citizens and anyone affected or made uncomfortable by the behavior.

The Embassy extends its sincere apologies to the people of Thailand and to everyone affected by this incident. Italians deeply understand and appreciate the values that Thai society places on respect for others, courtesy, and harmonious coexistence values that are equally cherished and upheld by the Italian Republic.
The inappropriate behaviour of the group of underage tourists does not in any way represent the Italian people, nor does it reflect the values of mutual respect, friendship, and courtesy that have long formed the foundation of the enduring relationship between the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Thailand.
