Market Roundup 4 August 2026

Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,617.13 points, decreased 4.77 points or 0.29%, with a trading value of THB 77.75 billion. The analyst stated that the Thai market moved sideways within a narrow range due to a lack of new supporting factors, as investors have already priced in the U.S.-Iran peace talks. Furthermore, market participants are speculating on listed companies’ 2Q26 financial results.

The analyst expects the Thai market to continue sideways movement, recommending investors closely monitor key U.S. economic data later this week.

Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of Thailand, delivered a keynote speech at the Indonesia–Thailand Business Forum, calling for a shift from mere “trade partners” to “co-creators,” emphasizing the integration of production, investment, technology, and innovation.

Following the speech, four Memorandums of Understanding were signed between Thai delegates and Indonesian firms to further reinforce bilateral cooperation, focusing on tourism, communication, marketing, carbon market, and economic cooperation.
