Thai Stock Market Outlook on 21 August 2026

Brokers project neutral-to-negative outlooks for the Thai stock market on Friday, as upward pressure on global bond yields and climbing crude prices weighed on investor confidence. The lingering risk from Middle East conflicts, combined with recent profit results from listed firms, shaped cautious market sentiment.

Maybank Securities (Thailand) expects the Thai benchmark to consolidate as heightened bond yields and rising oil costs dampen today’s trading environment. The Middle East remains a source of geopolitical uncertainty, further influencing investment attitudes.

Domestically, short-term sentiment continues to reflect investor reactions to recent earnings disclosures by listed companies.

The securities firm set a support level for the SET Index at 1,600 points, and a resistance level at 1,615 points for the session.

Meanwhile, Daol Securities anticipates the Thai bourse to move sideways-up, mirroring overnight softness in U.S. equities as bond yields climbed. The renewed increase in yields has pressured growth-oriented stocks, temporarily impacting overall market sentiment.

Conversely, continued gains in crude oil prices are seen supporting energy equities, which are expected to act as stabilizing forces for the broader index.

In the near term, Daol recommends focusing on tourism-related stocks that stand to benefit from the government’s “Thai Travel Thai Plus” initiative, specifically citing CENTEL, ERW, and AOT. In addition, data center infrastructure remains an attractive investment theme, with GPSC, BGRIM, and ADVANC identified as preferred names.

Yesterday, Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,609.99 points, increased 0.23 points or 0.01%, with a trading value of THB 82.36 billion.
