Guided by its new vision and mission, Banpu is ready to orchestrate energy systems with resilience for all changes through an integrated energy platform that efficiently combines energy resources, energy infrastructure, and energy solutions. Powered by technology, innovation, and expertise, this reflects the brand purpose to “Expand the world’s energy capacity, responsibly” driven by the capabilities of 4 business pillars operating across the Asia-Pacific region and the United States.

Mr. Sinon Vongkusolkit, Chief Executive Officer of Banpu Public Company Limited, said, “Today, Banpu is entering a new chapter of strong growth with an energy business that spans  the entire value chain from upstream to downstream. With a presence in countries at the forefront of energy growth, technological development, energy production and distribution, as well as growing demand from energy-intensive hyperscalers, Banpu is uniquely differentiated and well positioned in the business. We are confident that Banpu will be an energy company that creates value for the global energy industry, for businesses and people seeking reliable and responsible energy, and for our shareholders who have always placed their trust in our Company.”

Banpu remains focused on driving its energy business through 4 core business pillars under the “Energy Symphonics” strategy, with key directions and highlights as follows:

  • U.S. Closed-Loop Gas leverages its integrated gas-to-power platform for efficient power generation. In 2026, natural gas production is targeted at approximately 960 million cubic feet equivalent per day (Mmcfed), increasing from 836 Mmcfed in the previous year. Building on existing power generation capacity of 1.5 GW from the Temple I & II gas-fired power plants, it is well positioned to expand into the potential development of a new energy complex in Jack County, Texas, on a high-potential 6,000-acre site equipped with high-capacity transmission and gas pipelines. Concurrently, it incorporates Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration (CCUS) technology, targeting injection of 1.5 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent per year by 2028 through BKV’s operation. Furthermore, it aims to develop long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to support the energy demand of technology infrastructure providers, cloud computing, and large-scale data centers (hyperscalers).
  • Next-Gen Mining unlocks growth through energy resources and strategic minerals that support energy and AI infrastructure development, creating opportunities from the energy transition based on expertise in upstream resources. The Company continues its decarbonization efforts, such as capturing methane from underground mining operations for power generation, while implementing digital technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and integrated data platforms across mines in Indonesia, alongside workforce capability development and promoting a data-driven working culture to generate measurable, efficient, and sustainable business outcomes. In parallel, the Company is pursuing growth opportunities in strategic minerals, such as nickel and bauxite, which are critical components in the value chain of future energy technologies and energy storage systems, supporting long-term growth and strengthening its business portfolio.
  • Power+ scales an integrated power platform in key markets to serve growing demand for reliable, round-the-clock utility-scale electricity. The platform spans thermal power generation, renewable energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and energy trading. It continually enhances operational excellence to deliver stable, reliable, and sustainable electricity. The Company continues to seek investment opportunities in Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plants in the U.S. and Asia to support rising electricity demand, bridging the energy sector and digital industry, while prioritizing investment expansion in quality renewable energy and battery energy storage systems to support the transition toward a low-carbon society. The Company has a total of 10 BESS plants/projects in operation and under development by 2029, totaling 2,340 MWh. Key projects include the Megamouth project with a storage capacity of 200 MWh, representing the Company’s first BESS project in the U.S., and the Wooreen project with a storage capacity of 1,400 MWh, a large-scale project in Australia.
  • Future Tech advances clean energy and energy efficiency capabilities by delivering integrated Net-Zero Solutions and future energy technologies to provide customers with access to reliable and cost-effective energy, supporting Net Zero goals for both industrial clients and technology and AI infrastructure providers. Furthermore, it continues strategic investments in scalable AI technologies, computing infrastructure, and future energy technologies through Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) to gain early-stage access to future technologies, innovations, and business opportunities.

During the press conference outlining its strategic business direction, Banpu also introduced its brand mascot, “Flamo,” reflecting Banpu’s brand personality in an approachable, friendly, and innovative way, serving as another vibrant ambassador to communicate Banpu’s story and foster closer engagement with people.
