B.Grimm Chairman Inspires Thai Firms to Harness Deep Cooperation and Continuous Learning Amid Global Turbulence

Dr. Harald Link, Chairman of the Board at B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (SET: BGRIM), presented his view at the Bangkok Business Summit on navigating global economic turbulence, advocating for regional energy security and compassionate business practices.

Reflecting on B.Grimm’s upcoming 150th anniversary, Dr. Link compared modern challenges to those in the past, such as the two world wars. He asserted that surviving crises requires deep professional cooperation, curiosity, a commitment to continuous learning, and a refusal to give up, highlighting artificial intelligence as a powerful tool for continuous improvement.

At the heart of B.Grimm is “doing business with compassion,” a concept Dr. Link noted is easily understood in Thailand. He emphasized the Buddhist virtue of “sympathetic joy”—celebrating the success of others—as a foundation for a supportive work environment. He noted that people demonstrate a strong willingness to work when they are provided with an environment that encourages fulfillment and motivation, highlighting the high levels of enthusiasm found among young employees in the region.

Addressing Thailand’s pressing economic hurdles, Dr. Link warned that the country is rapidly running out of gas. He argued that public concern over high electricity prices is misplaced; the underlying issue is the cost of gas.

To resolve this, Dr. Link urged Thailand to foster closer diplomatic and economic ties with neighboring Myanmar to secure natural gas supplies, comparing the need for regional friendship to post-war reconciliation between Germany and France.

Secure gas supplies, he suggested, would fuel critical high-tech growth areas like AI systems, data centers, and semiconductor manufacturing. Dr. Link explained that if Thailand is able to bring gas costs down to historical levels, concerns over electricity pricing would be alleviated, as gas prices are the fundamental driver of electricity costs.

Ultimately, Dr. Link called on Thai businesses to shed self-limiting beliefs and embrace creative thinking. He urged local companies to leverage Thailand’s strong reputation for hospitality and professional excellence to confidently expand onto the global stage.
