Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (SET: CPF) is taking proactive steps to safeguard food supplies and maintain uninterrupted deliveries as heavy rain and flooding affect parts of Bangkok.
Demand for food and other essential goods has risen in some affected areas, the company said. CPF is coordinating deliveries through wholesale, retail and other sales outlets to help keep sufficient food available to consumers in all areas.
Prasit Boondoungprasert CEO of CPF said: As people cope with heavy rain and flooding, our priority is to maintain a steady supply of food, particularly through delivery operations. “We are closely monitoring conditions and demand in each area and working with our partners and sales outlets to help ensure adequate supplies continue to reach consumers without interruption.”
CPF said it was continuously monitoring demand, transport routes and local constraints to plan production, prepare stocks and organize deliveries. It is also working with partners across the food supply chain to maintain operations where travel and transport are limited.
The safety of employees and others involved in production and distribution remained a top priority, the company said.
CPF said it would continue to monitor conditions and revise its production and distribution plans as needed to ensure that food continues to reach consumers and to support food security in all circumstances.
