On Wednesday, Thailand’s SET Index closed the morning trading session at 1,570.20 points, showing a decrease of 1.54 points or 0.10%, with a trading value of THB 46.47 billion.
FSS International Investment Advisory Securities (FSSIA) wrote that the Thai stock market traded sideways in the morning, receiving positive momentum from a rebound in energy stocks as oil prices rose.
Meanwhile, the electronics sector, led by DELTA, experienced selling pressure, reflecting carry-over effects from yesterday when the market was closed, but global technology stocks declined sharply. The banking sector also faced selling pressure, adding to market volatility.
The market is currently awaiting key U.S. economic data releases, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for September expected to be announced today and the Producer Price Index (PPI) scheduled for release tomorrow. Market consensus for Headline CPI stands at 3.6% and for Core CPI at 2.5%.
If actual numbers defy estimates, this could weigh on the stock market and put upward pressure on U.S. government bond yields.
Domestically, attention will shift back to third-quarter 2026 financial statements of Thai listed companies, particularly from the banking sector, with most reports anticipated next week. TISCO reported earnings today, in line with market expectations.
For the afternoon session, the market is expected to continue fluctuating, with support seen at 1,560-1,565 points and resistance at 1,578-1,580 points.
