The Department of Special Investigation (DSI), through the Bureau of Security Cases, is conducting an investigation under Case File No. 6/2568 regarding the murder of Miss Tomoko Kawashita. The incident occurred on 25 November 2007 at the historic site of Wat Saphan Hin, Mueang Sukhothai District, Sukhothai Province.
Investigative findings indicate that a male individual of French nationality may possess important information concerning the events prior to the murder. He was reportedly present near the crime scene around the time of the incident and may have witnessed the perpetrator or related events.
A reward of 2 million baht is being offered if this individual provides testimony and critical leads that result in the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator.
Description of the Individual Sought : The person in question is a European male, estimated to have been between 35 and 40 years old at the time (currently approximately 53 to 58 years old). He was dressed in a black crew-neck T-shirt and black nylon shorts, and had a tall and slim build (approximately 170–180 cm in height), with fair skin and an oval-shaped face. His hair was cut in a uniform short buzzcut (skinhead) style, in black or dark brown, and his eyes were dark brown or black. He had prominent cheekbones, black eyebrows, a high-bridged nose, and a black beard not longer than one knuckle, with a clearly defined shape. No tattoos or earrings were observed. He spoke English with a French accent.
On 25 November 2007, at approximately 07:00–08:00 hrs, this man rented a motorcycle from Coffee Club, a shop located in Sukhothai town. The vehicle was a blue-and-black Honda Click, used for traveling in the Old City area of Sukhothai. He provided his passport as a deposit for the rental, but the shop did not make a photocopy of the document.
It is believed that he may have traveled with or met a European woman, likely his romantic partner. She was described as having long, wavy blonde hair, reaching from her shoulders to mid-back, worn loose and not tied up. She wore a white spaghetti-strap tank top and a long flared ankle-length skirt, resembling yellow tie-dyed fabric.
The individual is believed to have stayed at either Old City Guesthouse or Witoon Guesthouse, located on Jarod Withi Thong Road, in Mueang Kao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Sukhothai Province. He is also believed to have departed Sukhothai for Chiang Mai by interprovincial bus on 25 or 26 November 2007.
Should this person come forward and provide information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator, he shall be eligible for a reward of 2 million baht
