Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is scheduled to visit the French Republic between May 21–27, 2026, according to the Office of the Prime Minister spokesperson. The goal of the visit is to discuss with French leaders, international organizations, the private sector, and Thai delegates in Europe, in accordance with the government’s proactive economic policy.
The Prime Minister is set to meet with Emmanuel Macron, President of France, at a working dinner to strengthen Thai-French relations to a strategic partnership, on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Discussions will cover cooperation in trade, investment, energy, transportation, military affairs, and the aerospace industry—sectors where both countries have the potential to expand their economic partnership.
In addition, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) to discuss ways to enhance energy security, as well as with the Director-General of UNESCO to further cooperation in cultural matters.
He also aims to promote the inclusion of traditional Thai costume as an intangible cultural heritage by the end of this year, to increase recognition and develop the creative economy value of Thailand in fashion, handicrafts, tourism, and Thai soft power on the international stage.
For the economic mission, PM Anutin will meet with French business executives in the MEDEF International and the French private sectors to attract investment in key Thai projects, especially in the aviation and aerospace industries, clean energy, and the defense industry, areas in which France has expertise.
At the same time, the Prime Minister will join the meeting of Ambassadors and Consuls-General for the European region and meet with Thai businesses and the Thai community in France, to exchange views and support the role of the Thai community in promoting Thai culture, as well as enhancing the image and value of Thai brands in the European market.
