AOT Posts Further Net Loss in 1Q22 as Expenses Surge

Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (SET: AOT) has announced its business operation and financial statements for the three-month period ended December 31, 2021 through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows;

For the three-month period ended December 31, 2021, AOT reported a net loss of THB4,271.66 million. Operating results decreased by THB829.68 million compared to the corresponding period of the prior year of which net loss was THB3,441.98 million. 

While revenue from sales or services increased by THB151.05 million or 6.94% as a result of an increase in non-aeronautical revenue of THB188.44 million or 14.65% mainly due to a rise in concession revenues and service revenues. However, aeronautical revenue decreased by THB37.39 million or 4.20% because of the decline in the number of flights and passengers.

Other income decreased by THB5.81 million or 1.03%. Total expenses increased by THB1,152.62 million or 18.04% mainly due to a rise in other expenses and depreciation and amortisation expenses. While finance cost decreased by THB9.60 million or 1.28%. Income tax revenues increased by THB145.83 million or 15.44% which was in line with a decrease in operating results.
