Asian Equities Shed Loss After Reports of Europe’s Largest Nuclear Plant on Fire

Asian equities dropped sharply after reports of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant is said to be under fire during an intense fight between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Ukraine’s officials, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe came under fire after Russian troops shelled the facility.

The CSI300, HSI, KOSPI, SET and TOPIX is down by 0.37%, 2.05%, 1.25% and 1.59% respectively.

Safe heaven assets including treasuries and gold rose. The U.S. 10=year yields fell below 1.80, while the gap between two-year and 10-year yields is the lowest since March 2020.

U.S. WTI is trading around $109 per  barrel while Brent is at $112 per barrel price level.
