Thailand’s “Energy Absolute” Denies False Rumors which Cause 2-Day Plummet in Stock Price

Energy Absolute Public Company Limited (SET: EA) clarified on Thursday that information published in various media regarding the company’s projects, including power plant projects in Nakhon Sawan and Lampang provinces, the BlueTech City Industrial Estate Project in Chachoengsao province, as well as the share trading of Mr.Somphote Ahunai, the Chief Executive Officer, is false in any way. 

In this regard, the company is gathering information and will file civil and criminal charges under the Computer Crimes Act B.E. 2550 and related laws against individuals who intend to import distorted or false computer information into computer systems, including the fraudulent or fraudulent distribution or transmission of such computer information, which is likely to damage the company in terms of solid corporate governance, as well as a large number of investors in the investment area.

 

At 14.44 hrs. local time in Thailand, the share price of EA fell THB4.75/share, or 5.04%, to THB89.50/share, with a trading value of THB8,081 million. EA’s share price has decreased more than 11% since yesterday (6 April).
