Thai Shipping Stocks Edge Higher Following a Rise in Baltic Dry Index

The share price of shipping stocks in the Stock Exchange of Thailand Index (SET Index) edged higher in the morning session on Monday, following a jump in Baltic Dry Index (BDI) last Friday.

As of 10:51 BKK time on July 18, 2022, the share price of Precious Shipping Public Company Limited (SET: PSL) rose THB1.00 or 5.88% to trade at THB18.00 per share with a 10-day SMA of THB17.82 per share and RSI 14 Day of 35%.

Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited (SET: RCL) gained THB1.50 or 4.58% to trade at THB34.25 per share with a 10-day SMA of THB36.47 per share and RSI 14 Day of 13.6%.

Thoresen Thai Agencies Public Company Limited (SET: TTA) increased THB0.35 or 4.22% to trade at THB8.65 per share with a 10-day SMA of THB8.44 per share and RSI 14 Day of 40%.

 

PSL was -5.56% in five days, -8.11% in a month but +8.28% in three months.

RCL was -12% in five days, -24.71% in a month and -22.94% in three months.

TTA was flat in five days, -13.09% in a month and -6.74% in three months.

 

Reported by the Baltic Exchange in London, the BDI provides a benchmark for the price of moving the major raw materials by sea. The index rose 6.97% on Friday to 2,150 points, giving a positive sentiment to shipping stocks in the market. The index rose to its record high of over 5,600 points in October 2021 when the container shortage hit the market.
