SKY ICT Looks Ahead for Gains as Thailand Records 5.5 Million Tourist Arrivals in Nearly 3 Months

Sky ICT Public Company Limited (SET: SKY) is poised to gain more from rising tourist arrivals with the use of its service application “SAWASDEE by AOT”.

According to the government spokesperson Traisuree Taisaranakul, Thailand recorded 5.57 million foreign tourist arrivals from January to March 18 this year, which is already half of what the kingdom recorded for the whole year of 2022.

Thailand has set its sights to welcome 25 million tourist arrivals this year.

SAWASDEE by AOT is an application jointly developed with Airports of Thailand PCL (SET: AOT), an operator of six major airports in Thailand. The application provides information about interesting tourism and privileges such as Easily checking the flight board, Easy to check flight, Navigating from accommodation to gate, etc.

The company will continue to book higher income as the number of tourist arrivals continue to increase in response to the economic reopening and pent-up demand.

More importantly, the company is expecting to bid, through its JV business, for a groundworks project at the Suvarnabhumi Airport.

SKY recently acquired an additional of newly issued shares in SAL GROUP (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (SAL) at a total price of 67,395,800 baht.

SAL is a holding company that holds 51% of the total shares of AOT Ground Aviation Services Co., Ltd. (AOTGA), which is a joint venture between SAL and Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (SET: AOT). The company engages in the business of providing aircraft and passenger services at airports that are under the responsibility of AOT.

The injection of 67 million baht by SKY is seen as a preparation to submit SAL for the bidding of a groundworks service.

Sources close to the matter noted that the groundwork project is worth 29.3 billion baht, and the bidding could be held by June this year.

The share price of SKY is trading at THB 27.00 per share on Wednesday, representing a gain of nearly 1%. The company has seen its share price rise 14% this year, but still below its record high of THB 32.25 per share earlier this month.
