Walmart China Welcomes Exporter’ Products to Shelf, Aiming to Boost Domestic Sales

Following China’s announcement of its search for a solution to help businesses that are being affected by the U.S. President’s Donald Trump’s 145% tariff, an American retailer, Walmart, stepped in and revealed an assisting program.

According to the statement of Walmart’s China unit, the retailer is inviting Chinese suppliers to make domestic sales through more than 300 of its supermarkets in China. This move can greatly assist exporters as many of them were unable to earn revenue by sending goods to customers in the U.S. for a period of time.

Walmart’s move aims to balance the oversupply in China hit by U.S. tariffs. The firm said that the process would be simple and it will fasten the process for approval for exporters to shelve their products in Walmart.
