Mr. Chuwit Jungtanasomboon, Chief Executive Officer of North East Rubber Public Company Limited (SET: NER), told ‘Kaohoon Turakij’ that the company anticipates performance in the second quarter of 2025 to surpass both the same period last year—when it recorded total revenue of 6.5 billion baht and net profit of 450 million baht—and the preceding quarter, which posted 8.6 billion baht in revenue and 600 million baht in profit.
This improved outlook follows the successful closure of all rubber sales orders for the current quarter, with NER also benefiting from higher average selling prices.
For the full-year 2025, NER is confident it will achieve a total revenue target of over 30 billion baht, up from around 27.5 billion baht in 2024, when the company also recorded a net profit of 1.65 billion baht.
Sales volume is expected to reach 500,000 tons, an increase from 440,000 tons last year. Of this, approximately 70% of volume will come from domestic clients and 30% from international customers. As of now, NER has advanced rubber orders secured through November 2025.
Looking ahead to the third quarter, NER continues to receive steady orders, albeit at lower prices, with rubber averaging 55-60 baht per kilogram—down from the company’s earlier estimate of 70 baht per kilo for the full year. The price correction follows natural market dynamics and does not affect the business, as the company operates primarily on a buy-sell basis.
“In 2025, we expect greater profit opportunities as a larger supply of raw rubber has entered the market, reducing competition for raw materials compared to last year, which was affected by El Niño-related droughts,” Chuwit added.
Addressing concerns about U.S. import tariffs, the company believes the impact on the rubber sector will be minimal, as para rubber is an essential good and Thailand’s product quality remains among the best globally. While sales volume may dip slightly due to higher tariffs, American buyers will ultimately face increased costs stemming from reduced raw material imports.
