Mr. Rawee Boonsinsukh, CEO and President of BCPG Public Company Limited (SET: BCPG), disclosed operating results of BCPG and its subsidiaries in the first half of 2025 with total revenue of THB 1,511.2 million and total core profit of THB 329.2 million, a 26% decrease from the previous year due to an absence of adder from solar power projects in Thailand and the divestment of solar power projects in Japan.
The Company reported a net loss of THB 498.5 million. This was due to a foreign exchange loss of THB 117 million resulting from the appreciation of the Thai Baht against foreign currencies, and other special items valued at THB 711 million. Key items included the impairment of investment in wind power projects in the Philippines and the loss from the sale of overdue receivables of hydropower projects in Laos.
“We aim to grow fast and steadily to generate sustainable returns. In the second half of this year, we expect an impressive portfolio and more stable revenue,” said Rawee.
BCPG expected better performance in the second half of 2025 with significant contributors; rainy season in Laos to result in higher generation of hydropower plants for electricity sale to Vietnam, and an increase in capacity revenue from natural gas power plants in the US, which has risen from 30 USD/MW-day to 270 USD/MW-day since June.
“In the second half of this year, we also plan to start commercial operation of our mega wind farm project in Laos, with total production capacity of 600 MW, for electricity sale to Vietnam, including the acquisition of 99-MW wind power project in Vietnam and 17.5-MW solar rooftop project, which we plan to complete all the acquisition process of both projects and start revenue recognition by this year,” Rawee added.
