Thai Stock Market Outlook on 20 August 2025

On Wednesday, Maybank Securities (Thailand) expects the Thai market to rebase as there are no new supporting factors. Investors are monitoring the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole Economic Symposium, scheduled for August 21-23, to gauge the U.S. interest rate policy, as well as the progress on Russia-Ukraine peace talk.

Domestically, investors are monitoring Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, and former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s trial, which could lead to a cautious trading.

 

The firm set a resistance level for the SET Index at 1,245 and a support level at 1,225 points for today’s session.

Yesterday, Thailand’s SET Index closed at 1,235.76 points, decreased 6.55 points or 0.53% with a trading value of THB 39.59 billion.
