Panasonic Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Panasonic Group, has unveiled a strategic investment plan to double its worldwide output of MEGTRON multi-layer circuit board materials within five years, anticipating surging demand from the AI server and ICT infrastructure sectors.
The company announced it will commit around JPY 17 billion to develop a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at its existing Ayutthaya plant in Thailand. Construction is underway on the site of Panasonic Manufacturing Ayutthaya Co., Ltd., with commercial operations set to begin in November 2027 and mass production to follow by the close of FY2028.
As generative AI adoption accelerates, demand for next-generation high-speed, high-capacity networking hardware has intensified, placing a spotlight on MEGTRON’s reputation as a gold-standard laminate. Renowned for exceptionally low transmission loss, these circuit board materials are critical to ensuring stability and efficiency in data-intensive systems such as servers, switches, and routers.
