Ms. Nipaporn Chakpitak, President of Bangchak Retail Company Limited, a subsidiary of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: BCP), stated that the company has set a three-year investment plan (2026-2028), targeting to accelerate sales of “Inthanin” coffee shops from approximately THB 2 billion currently to THB 6 billion by 2028.
This growth will be driven by the expansion of total branches from over 1,100 now to 1,800 branches, as well as increasing average sales per branch from the current 100 cups per day to 200 cups per day by 2028. According to Ms. Nipaporn, Inthanin currently holds the second largest market share by cup volume and has shown sustainable growth.
This investment expansion plan follows Bangchak Group’s strategy, which aims to triple its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) from Non-Oil businesses within three years.
In addition, Bangchak Group has partnered with a Japanese ally: Mr. Tsuyomi Matsuda, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yamama Masudaen Co., Ltd., an award-winning tea plantation from Shizuoka, Japan. The company has begun importing 5 tons of premium grade matcha tea annually from Yamama Masudaen for Inthanin coffee shops, with plans to gradually increase this amount in the coming years as matcha beverage consumption in Thailand continues to rise.
Yamama Masudaen tea plantation has a comprehensive, one-stop production process—from cultivation, harvesting, and processing to packaging and distribution—all under one roof, allowing for stringent quality control. Currently, their tea is exported to over 20 countries worldwide and is Rainforest Alliance certified, reflecting a commitment to sustainable production and high quality standards. Their tea is widely used as an ingredient in bottled drinks, food, and other products.
Yamama Masudaen is considered a pioneer among tea plantations in the Omaezaki area, specifically in the Koizumihara plot, first cultivated by Maruo Bunroku in the 19th century. Today, the plantation remains family-operated and centralized in Omaezaki, with an integrated production system handling every step in-house.
Furthermore, Yamama Masudaen is certified for food safety management systems such as FSSC 22000 and has received major awards including the Emperor’s Cup and accolades from the Minister of Agriculture.
